1. you would have to read all the appropriate documentation http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Documentation

2. there are a few things to do to optimize your site http://websearch.about.com/od/keywordsandphrases/a/google_seo.htm

But, I have found that the more people that click on your site from the results will increase the standings in those results and the more specific the criteria for the search will also help

3. again you would have to look at your documentation ( I don't know anything about Servers) but, you would be given an IP address so that is what you would use, I think....

Hello and thanks for checking this out, I am actually in need of some information. I am trying to get my site live, and I happen to be running into some problems that you might be able to help me with. I'm having trouble finding the right information, but before that let me give a systems analysis so you know where my problem lies. Here is what I'm working with:

A happy go lucky do it yourself-er,
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00Ghz w/ 2.00GB Ram
300GB SATA HDD w/ 3 100GB Partitions
Windows Vista Enterprise (64bit) Service Pack 2
Norton AntiVirus 2010
Belkin N1 Wireless Router
Belkin Surf & Share Wireless N300 USB Adapter
Mozilla Firefox Browser 3.6.8

FileZilla FTP Server/Interface/Client

Adobe CS5 Design Premium
*Constructed Html Site w/ PNG32.

**a separate internet paid connection.

I have the tools, but do not know exactly how to do this. The site has all the files and connections built in, to the Html file to find other html files/Pictures that are part of the site.

I need the following:

1. How do I set up the server, so it is stable, able to view, use, and change my site as I need to, and it has the capacity to broadcast my Site daily 24/7 both locally and remotely.

2.How do I arrange the Site so it is easily located by Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines, as well as how do I arrange the files in the server so that it has the standard Architecture that those search engines are looking for in their Algorithms.

3. How to find my site, Once it is live to be able to show it to my friends, family and fellow computer peeps.

Hey thanks so much for your help I'll let you know how this turns out.

p.s.: Para todos os Brasileiros que passam por aqui muito Obrigado por a sua Ajuda. Tchau.(The Brasilian PC geek)

Hi,

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME! :)

I am in desperate need of advise. I need to set up a simple to use "drag & drop" FTP system so that my clients around the world can send me lots of high-res images quickly and easily without the need of a software client like Filezilla etc. I just want something that is quick and easy to use where I give the client a URL & password and they can drag their images into a selected folder that they will have access to.

I have my own dedicated server and have Cpanel. I have read something about Webdisk - will this work? I just don't know what to do or how to use it!!! ANY help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hiya,

I'm re-making my test site and am in the process of deleting all the files in my database so that I can upload them from my local server with a fresh start. Anyhow, all the files in the themes folder deleted no problem but for some reason some of the files in the Modules and Sites folder wont delete. Could they be locked somehow? If anyone knows what's happening then please help me out. Thanks in advance :)

Seth -
The FTP client program connects to an FTP site or FTP server where your files will be stored. You need to contact the hosting provider that is storing the files for the username and password. Once you have the username and password, your FTP client should make a successful connection and you can begin the file transfer.

@imanovice

Yes, IE8 did change the View Source feature to include line numbers and added HTML color coding (the red and blue text you see). Unfortunately you cannot edit directly with the new viewer, but you can easily switch back to the way IE7 worked!

Try this:

1. Open IE8

2. Press F12, this will open the new IE8 Developer tools window.

3. Click the File menu, click Customize Internet Explorer View Source

4. Select Notepad as the Default viewer.

That should get you back to normal! :-)

Hope that helps,
Mike

I use Classic FTP to edit my website. In Classic FTP window I click on the page I want to edit, I right click and then left click on "view source",the notepad window comes up and I make my changes and save and its done. Upon recently trying to edit, I can't anymore. Is it because I now have IE8 ? My last edit was done when I had IE7. Did IE8 change compatibility with Classic FTP? Now I'm getting the notepad window with my html in red and blue text and all the lines are numbered on the left side of the notepad window and I cant change anything? I can't edit anymore. What's going on here? I need to edit my website. I need help please!
