Hi. I am using WS_FTP Pro v 2007.1. I have a synchronize set up to sync a folder at on office (Loc 1...source) to a folder on a Bulletproof FTP server (Loc 2...destination). The FTP Server folder has about 10,000 files.

Loc1 has about 10,100 files.
Loc2 has about 10,000 files.

My sync is set up to as "Only on Loc1.. transfer to Loc 2". All other options are set to "no transfer". None of the options are selected.

When the sync begins, ALL 10,100 files transfer from Loc1 to Loc2 instead of just the 100 new files.

Any ideas what can be causing this?

I am using WS_FTP home 12 as my FTP client, and my OS is Windows XP sp3 and I use the Firefox browser. I have been using the WS_FTP software since 2004. It usually works fine, but sometimes it fails to auto reconnect to the last remote folder when I open the program. It may display a citation that "the current directory is". This makes it necessary for me to go through several steps that require several minutes to get the program to download the desired folder. I don't encounter this problem all of the time, but when I do it is a big nuisance. I have cited the control to have the program "auto reconnect to last Local and Remote folders", but sometimes it doesn't display the last Remote folder. What could be causing this problem? What can I do to correct it or eliminate it when it does happen?

Hi, users, I found FREE Photoshop alternative called Fotographix. Seems really good, and sounds like it loads fast. Free, I think is the best thing.

From the site-

Fotografix is an amazing example of what creative developers can accomplish in less than one meg. The 680Kb portable application is a very capable image editor and provides nearly all the same functionality I utilize in Photoshop on a daily basis. It was a no-brainer to include in my list of 40 apps you can download in two seconds.

Hi,

Im working for a client that requires FTP UL/DL tests and they also want to check the bandwith while performing these.
At the moment Im using a FTP client and a bandwidth monitoring SW that has a stopwatch. If i time the stopwatch correct it will give me accurate Min, Max & Average speeds for the time of the file transfer.

However as you may appreciate this is not 100% accurate (due to operator error) and so what im trying to find is a FTP client that will do the following:-

Connect to the server on request, transfer the file on request, then at the end of the file transfer give a popup with the file transfer results in both graphical and textual format.

So my question is there an FTP client out there that does this? Are there scripts already built for some client for this? And finally if none of these exist how do i go about deving a script or client?

Hope someone can help on this as Ive been searching for months and havent found anything related.

Thanks......

Harold on "Tips for brochure designing"

Many of us don’t pay much attention to the design of brochures. In fact, most of the people make haste decisions in case of brochure designing, as they carry a false notion that the brochures will be accepted by people easily, if they distribute them to as many targeted customers as possible. But brochure is one of the crucial parts of marketing and hence should be made in a professional way.
There are many people who make decisions about the product by looking at the appearance, design, content of the printed material that they receive. So brochures should be developed effectively, to increase the sales.
The right color scheme is one of the most important factors behind a professional brochure design. You should choose colors that encourage people to read your brochure. Therefore you have to be extremely careful in choosing the background and font color. Remember to use colors that help the customers to read the information given in your brochure easily.
The text content should be interesting and informative to attract your potential clientele. This will help in attracting targeted customers.
The next point to be considered is the proper organization of information. The information that you are planning to give in your brochure should be methodically arranged. This will make it easy for the users to read and find out the needed details about the products and services that you offer.
There are a lot of entrepreneurs, especially the beginners, who are not interested in spending money for brochure designing. But this is a wrong practice. A professional brochure designer can help in the methodical arrangement of designs and content in a brochure. This will make your brochure pleasing to the reader’s eye.
If you don’t know much about brochure designing you can do a web search using the keyword brochure design brisbane, to find out more about brochure designing.

Hi!

I have a client who is having problems connecting to ftp. I got her to install WS-FTP so I could see the error message that she's getting when trying to connect. I'm not super FTP savy, since we only set up FTP access for a few clients, and normally those clients work in large offices with dedicated IT guys to help them with their issues.

Here is her error;

Connecting to 66.51.125.178:21

Connected to 66.51.125.178:21 in 2.993000 seconds, Waiting for Server Response

550 No connections allowed from your IP

Failed to receive response after connect

Host type (1): AUTO

I told her to toggle passive mode on and try that.

I don't know much about windows since I am a mac user, but is this error associated with her windows firewall? Or is it a router issue?

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
