Can I have a batch file that will automatically get a different file on a daily basis? The name of the file that needs to be downloaded changes.
    For example:
    fffYYYYMMDD.txt

    YYYYMMDD is a date format
    20010501
    20010502
    20010503
    etc...

Yes, you can run a batch file to download a different file everyday.
You need to work with your trading partner and let them know what you want to do.
Baiscally, you only want one file in the directory you are going to download from. You can then use a wildcard character(s)in place of the date in the file name in your ftp script. Your trading partner needs to copy, move or delete the file in the directory you download from before they place the new file out there for you.
Some ftp servers do not allow the use of wildcard characters, I believe it is an attribute of ftp that can be set by the network administrator. Hope this helps.

Susan, yes you can, just connect to your site, using the information provided to you by your Host/ISP, and then download your file to your PC
