ftp programs -- what's the difference
(2 posts)-
Everyone I ask says there's a ton of free ftp applications out there. I found ws_ftp and see that it's free for 30 days, and like $35 to buy it. Anyone here had experience with ws_ftp? or a free ftp?

Well, as you say, there are many out there, most of the posters here will be using WS-FTP. I think the thing you need to consider is the ease of use as it pretains to your personal needs...many years ago I was a newby and tried a few free ftps on the net but the ones I tried, for my needs and understanding, were just not suitable...I then found WS-FTP LE which was a free version, it is no longer supported or free and it is called the HOME version now...this LE version was perfect for me, easy to understand and execute...so, now I have the WS-FTP Pro version and it has a few more bells and whistles but it is still fairly easy to use...also, there are tutorials, along with videos, of WS-FTP which are easily accessible, here on this site....
