   The WS_FTP client was installation on my computer by our admin person, and I'm prefectly able to gain access to the server while at work, but not using my wireless home network. Does my admin person need to add the IP address that my home network has assigned to my laptop? Or, is there some way for me to modify my setup so that I can gain access to the server?

   to access a work server from your home you would need permission....this would be a security feature for unautherized access...contact your servers administrator to solve this issue...

   ws ftp is a very good file transefer protocol software.it can be used by diffrent person from anywhere acroos the world for a same website. no ip address modification occurs..
