   is it possible to transfer files from one site to another using FTP but without having to download them to the PC first?

   With WS-FTP a site to site transfer is possible, this is assuming of course that the sites involved allow such transfers....

   The simple way would be to just click on "open remote connection" on both the "local" (left) and "remote" (right) windows....then just "drag and drop" your files between the two...

   Yea the RDP will work but is wont transfer as fast as FTP plus I don't believe it will encrypt packets, but don't quote me on that.
