When does received file become readable in UNIX?
(1 post)-
Hi All
First post. Here's the Q:
Receiving a file over FTP can take a while. At what point does it become readable in Unix, such that a "
[ -r somefile ]
" test succeeds?
I am trying to avoid reading an inbound file before it has been received fully. I am hoping that the -r test will fail until the file has landed in it's entirety, but I have my doubts.
Any idea, anyone?
Thanks
